Visit to the Water Project in Ngong Kenya

It was wonderful to receive our visitors Meg and Alison from UK at Ngong Anglican Church where there is Christians Aware Water Project.

I and Julius went to meet them at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in. Nairobi on Friday 15th August, 2003 at 10.30 a.m. East African time. They had flown from Entebe Airport in our neighbouring Country, Uganda where they had stayed for two weeks at Mityana Anglican Diocese in the Church of Uganda, undertaking a Christians Aware project in the Diocesan head office.

They seemed happy and excited to be in Kenya which they were not expecting until when we met with them last year in a Christians Aware conference at Leicester in Laude Abbey and we became friends. When we learned that they are coming over for a project in Uganda, we asked them to extend their visit to Kenya as well in order to be with us and see where we live together with our families. Our families were very happy to be with them.

At Ngong they had quite a good time with all of us and our families. Grace had suggested to host them for the six days they were to be in Ngong. Grace was working during the day and could only be with them at night. At day time, I used to pick them from Grace’s home to be with them in the Church Pre—school College where they taught for two days. They were very excited to meet with many pre—school teachers who come to train with us during school holidays.

They also had time during the weekend to visit one of our Lakes in Kenya where we mine salt and sodaash. On Sunday 17th August, 2003 Alison preached in one of our Parish Churches called ACK St. Paul Enoomatasian Church were Grace is a member. The Church was observing Diocesan Mothers Union Sunday. Alison was used by God to give a prophesy during the Church service that made the Christians who were not active in Church to wake—up and join others in the Church activities.

We also had a chance to visit a Children’s Centre which I helped started after the children’s conference last year on our way to climb Ngong Hills. But Meg and another woman friend to Grace got tired half way up—hill which made us to go back after a short break over a bottle of soda.

Meg arid Alison also had time to view the tank which was built last year by Christians Aware work campus. The tank is full of water and supplying all Church Institutions. We get water supplied in that tank one day a week from a local water supply, government project, that is supplying many villages a week. They also saw local villagers fetching water with donkeys every morning. We are happy that our tank now can supply us with water for six months when full. It will be a great blessing if we get our own borehole for permanent water supply, not only for the church use but also to supply our neighbouring villagers in a radius of 2 kilometers away from the Church. We heartily thank Christians Aware through Barbara    Butler who are thinking about our request.    More report on the water project will be given by Meg and Alison when they come back home.
